Exactly a year ago from its implementation of the 1343 Action Line on Human Trafficking, which is on a 24/7 call basis, introduces this 1343 Website on Human Trafficking.  This Website will complement the Action Line’s purpose in responding to requests for assistance, inquiries and referrals involving suspected human trafficking activities. It will fast-track the referral and follow-up of cases,   efficiently direct immediate assistance to human trafficking victims and disseminate to bigger audience information on Human Trafficking.

Over the week, Ledesma said that immigration officers arrested six Indian nationals while trying to enter the country through the southern seaport in Tawi-Tawi without the proper documents.

The six Indian nationals are Kuldeep Singh, Sikatar Singh, Paramjit Singh, Sogi Manvinder, Dharam Singh, and Amrik Singh. They were arrested last November 5. Ledesma said that they will immediately undergo deportation proceedings for entering the country without visas and for evading inspection by immigration authorities.


Immigration authorities ordered a Japanese fugitive, wanted for arranging fake marriages between Japanese men and Filipino women who wanted to legitimize their stay in Japan was deported back to the land of the rising sun.

Yoshifumi Fujii was arrested on Jan. 24 at the Immigration main office in Manila as he was trying to extend his expired Philippine visa, according to the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
