Manila, Philippines -- The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has lodged human trafficking charges before the Department of Justice (DOJ) against a Korean national and three others who allegedly employed young girls as prostitutes in a club in Angeles City, Pampanga

Charged with violation of Republic Acts 9208 and 7610 were Hwang Sung Bok, also known as B.K., operator of Club Prada, located along Friendship highway, in Brgy. Anunas, Angeles City.

Also included as respondents in the files complaint-affidavit filed before the DOJ were Jennifer Mallari; RJ Ramos; and Arlene Benjamin. The three are believed to be pimps employed in the club.

The NBI complaint-transmittal show that the case against the four suspects stemmed from a complaint of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

NBI Central Luzon Regional Office (NBI-CELRO) Acting Regional Director Atty. Jose Justo Yap said they received a tip from the DSWD - Region 3 last month that there were girls, some of whom minors, who were being sexually exploited at Club Prada in Angeles City.

The DSWD claimed that the girls were being peddled as prostitutes in the said bar and the agency, thus, requested the NBI to rescue the sexual workers.

The NBI conducted surveillance inside Club Prada to determine the veracity of the information they received, according to Yap.
